Hi!!!

Hi!!!! Hope every had a great weeek!!  Me and Elder Strong had a great week here in Douliu!!  Started off with last tuesday meeting with a Father and his 6 year old son for the first time last monday night! His english name is Michael, (pretty solid name), and we met him about 3 weeks ago at a 7/11.  That day he was leaving the next morning for a trip to europe for 2 weeks and so could not meet until this past week!  But we sat down with him and just felt he was a special one.  He has a true desire to help his two sons have a good life and good solid religion.  (He came to the right place!)  It was a very awesome lesson, and we are looking forward to helping them continue towards this eternal happiness!

This past week we had zone conference!  President Teh came down to this area and held the conference.  It was super great! We talked about braking the down the barrier between members and missionaries in the work of salvation.  This is one work and we need to help eachother!  It was an example to me of how we need to always heed the words of the prophet.  He shared a clip from a talk about president Monson about this.  After the clip was over he looked at us and said, If the prophet says we should do it, we do it! The prophet receives revelation from our Heavenly Father for us and we need to listen to it, it is for all of our benefit!  I encourage you to go back a read a talk from President Monson from two conferences ago, and make an effort to be better!  We must follow the servants of God!

Thanks for all the love and support!

Hello

Hello!!

Nothing too out of the ordinary this week!  On Wednesday and Thursday I went on exchanges with an Elder in our district. He is super awesome and a hard worker,  there area is a little far away and in the middle of no where (no train station).  So we road our bikes an hour to get there! We met with a referral from a member in their ward with quite a bit of interest in Jesus Christ!  He taught me a lot about going about the work of the Lord humbly and doing your part and relying on the Lord for the rest.  Me and this Elder had never taught a lesson together before, and the lesson kinda came out of no where, but it went great.  We shared the Restoration with him and went very smooth!  The power of the holy spirit! Loosening the tongues of the weak, to proclaim the true gospel!

On Tuesday we traveled to one of the cities away from douliu that is part of our area. It was about and hour or so bike ride there.  That is where the humble chu qu guang lives!  He is a referral from the Taibei mission and is awesome!  He is a friend of our Bishop and loves the power and peace the gospel brings to his life.  Usually the Bishop or a member will drive us out to meet, but there was a stake activity and no one could make it, so we biked!  We read with him in the Book of Mormon and committed him to baptism!  He has a deep and sincere desire to follow our Savior Jesus Christ.  I am very grateful for the opportunity to help him learn from the spirit about these eternal truths. Even though we haven't know him long, I can already see a change in him, and it's a good change!

A story that has really helped me realize that everyone has their own timing and is prepared at different times to hear and accept the gospel was shared with me by one of my previous companions.  In one of his previous wards there was a women who joined the church over 20 years ago and faithfully took her 3 kids to church every week for 19 YEARS. While her husband didn't have any interest in accompanying them.  She went to church, she had a calling, and taught her children the gospel.  As she expressed with my comp she loved going to church because of the spirit it brought into her home, and the high standards it taught her children.  She said she spent much time in prayer and fasting for her husbands heart to be softened towards the church.  After 17 years in the church her son served a mission!!  Through out his mission her husband supported and started to soften his heart. He started reading scriptures with them, going to church on occasion, and praying, but did not want to join.  When their son returned faithfully from his mission, and after seeing his change. The father decided it was time to take the missionary discussions.  My comp was priviledged to teach this man.   He was baptized! I am convinced that the Lord and our Heavenly Father have a plan for each of us.  Maybe right now one of our family members is not prepared to accept, but everyday is closer until the one day when they will be ready.  As long as we are doing what we need to and being a good example.  OUR FAMILIES WILL BE TOGETHER FOREVER.  They will come around to the gospel!

"A study of the Gospel will change behavior faster than a study of behavior will change behavior."  -Boyd K. Packer.

If you want to change for the better, pick up a Book of Mormon, start to pray everyday, and go to church.  Our Heavenly Father has given us such a simple way to come to know him!

I love you all thanks for the love and support!!

"Remember to put Jesus Christ at the center of your life today." Beau Richey

Solid week.  Not a lot of new things to talk about, pretty normal.  Yesterday we met with an investigator who is a student at the nearby college, Brother Luo.  He has such a pure desire to know that these things are true and is putting forth effort to gain a testimony of it.  He has been such a great example to me of someone who is full heartedly doing the things the gospel teaches in order to improve our lives, and he is starting to see a difference!

We finally got to watch conference, it was great!  If you did not get a chance to watch conference I highly recommend going to lds.org and reading some talks.

I loved President Russell M. Nelson's talk about the Book of Mormon, the whole time he was telling the story about his experience with the African king, i couldn't help but think about Ammon and King Lamonih's experience in the Book of Mormon.  It is so amazing that the prophets, apostles, missionaries of the Lord's church are doing the same things as were done in the Book of Mormon times.

Elder Zwick of the 70's talk really inspired me. I loved the direction to, look beyond what you see.  Look beyond yourself, look beyond the shortcomings of your peers, look beyond the things of the world, look beyond your personal weakness's, look beyond your mistakes, and trust the Lord! Do the things he would do! Look at these people as he would.  I have started to make a conscentrated effort to look beyond the evil world, and into eternity!  Have an eternal perspective!

I absolutely loved conference and every question I went into it with was answered.

Love you all!

HELLO!!

HELLO!! Things are coming along here in Douliu!! We have had a great week and the Lord has provided us with many miracles to boost the faith! Yesterday we met with a Senior at the near by college.  It was one of the most spiritual lessons of my entire mission.  The guy asked our member that was in the lesson, did you ever get scared or doubt at first when you came into contact with the missionaries?  The member did a great job and we let him know, that yes definitely at first it is a little scary and you might doubt at first. But there is always one person you can always seek truth from and receive an answer, and that is our Heavenly Father! Mark 5:36 "Don't be afraid, only believe." Shout out to Elder Warner with that scripture!

Just one little story out of many that have strengthened my testimony lately.  Love you all!
