大家好

You know it is humid outside when your hands shrivle up like prunes just from washing them. Hahah

This past week has been good here for us! Brother B that I talked about last week passed his baptismal interview and will be getting baptized this next Saturday! His little kids are really starting to fit in with the ward and meet some good friends. In the interview Brother B expressed to the missionary how much he loves Russell M. Nelson! He said he loves to often sit down and listen to the prophet's words!

This is Elder Wightman's last week in the field so we are going to be working hard to finish strong!

This past sunday we had a Stake leader come and speak in the ward.  He talked about his love for the church, the blessings it has brought in to his life, how the sacrament can heal, and how much he loves being able to participate in the sacramental ordinance ever week. He said "Everyone should appreciate the oppportunity to pass the sacrament, you represent the Lord sharing His blessing with everyone through you." This statement hit me hard, do we realize that the little priesthood boys walking around carry such a big responsibilty? Do I truly know what this sacred ordinance symbolizes? Do I take it this reverently? These are the questions that I asked myself as he was speaking.  The sacrament is a way for us to start over, try again, and pick ourselves up every week! This short little experience at the beginning of sacrament meeting can become a way to repent, personal examination, renew the promises we made with God, feel more peace than any other place, and come closer to Heavenly Father. It can help us to progress in a way that will lead us to the most happiness possible, and qualify us for the companionship of the Holy Ghost. So, if you are looking for peace and guidance in life, make it a priority to take the sacrament every week!

Love you all!

奇蹟! Miracles!

Hello!! We had a great week full of miracles! Highlighted by the B Family. They are a miracle. They were found a couple weeks before I got here and now we've been teaching them for the last month since I got here. Their kids are 4, 2, and a week older than Sadie. She works 7 days a week at a breakfast shop , morning shift. He works night shift at a factory . They split it up like that so one parent can be home at all times to be with the kids. They work SOOOOOO hard to provide the best for their kids. The schedule has been very very tough. But they have found happiness and peace through the Book of Mormon and They absolutely LOVE the gospel . Brother Bao has been to church 4 or 5 times and Sister Bao has not been able to get off work to come. They have a baptismal goal for 5/26. The family has been praying to see if brother Bao should get baptized first or wait for his wife. They decided last night that he should get baptized first. Their reasoning: They would rather have one in the family with the holy ghost and the priesthood to guide their home and help the rest of the family along! They have so much faith! We are very excited for his baptism. We then told her because of this , her husband can be the one to baptize her. They were very surprised and excited to here that!

We also met with a new investigator from this last week that told us he wants to develop a better relationship with God. Last week we shared the restoration with him and about how Heavenly Father is willing to communicate with us and help our lives . This week we talked about the means by which we do that: Reading the Book of Mormon with real intent to learn from it and praying to know if its true! It was a very powerful lesson, as we read with him from the pages of the Book of Mormon you could feel the power the Book held. He set a baptismal goal for June 30th! What an awesome guy!

2 Nephi 32:3 "Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do."
-The words in the Book of Mormon and Bible are here to guide our lives!

Teaching English class is a fun and weird endeavor sometimes. This week the other Elders were doing a spiritual share and they asked the question "what makes your lives hard". Soon a yell was heard from the back of the room "the American Government". This same woman asked us for the codes for the U.S.'s nuclear weapons a few weeks ago. Haha you never know what's going to happen at english class!

Love you all!

We went and did some service at a high school in one of the cities surrounding Pingdong. The PE teacher is a member in our ward. He asked us to introduce ourselves to them by sharing some pictures of our families/things we like to do/American culture and also teach his student how to play volleyball in English! All the girls were freaking out because they never see foreigners and wanted to take a ton of pictures with us. We were literally treated like one direction for the afternoon. Haha

We have had a great week here! First I want to say happy birthday to my role model and father. Thanks for your example of love and faithfulness in our family! Also happy birthday to my amazing Aunt Emily. Love you both!

The highlight of the week was probably one of our investigators, 劉弟兄 brother Lou,  passing his baptismal interview! At this point he does not have a specific date for baptism because his mother wants him to wait until he is really sure this is what he wants to do. But we fasted with him, and he really believes that he can communicate to his mom how big of a desire he really does have to be baptized. We believe this method will soften his mother's heart! He is such a strong young man and we know his mom only wants the best for him. We know the Lord is in charge and it'll work out!

The Bao family is doing great! Sister Bao is still trying to get work off on Sundays but Brother Bao came to church with two of their three children!

This week be better than you were before. Make a goal to bring happiness into the life of someone else. It will bring more purpose and peace into your own life.

Love you all!
