Hello!! what a great week we have had here in the heat of 潮州!! To start off, Sister Xu was baptized this week! She is an amazing lady and her desire to follow Christ is soo strong. She has been talking about going on a mission in a year! The baptism service was very spiritual and she bore a powerful testimony of her conversion story. I am very grateful for the chance to have met her and witnessed her great example.
Me and Elder Whitworth have been working very hard to find new people to teach! This week didn't come with a lot of success (besides the baptism). I feel like I have learned a lot about this work not being easy but worth it. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do this work.
This week I studied a lot in the book of Alma, specifically chapters 40-42. I love the teachings of Alma, as he teaches his son of the power of Jesus Christ, and the certainty of a next life. It gives me so much comfort to know and learn everyday through scripture about mine and everyone's eternal potential. Because of Christ we can overcome sin, disappointment, struggle, unworthiness, death, and justice. In this Thanksgiving season I am grateful for the sacrifice of our Savior, and the hope that his power gives the world. Follow him, read his teachings, and strive to be like him everyday and you will be more happy than ever before. I can say that I know that will happen, because I have seen it first hand in my life. Christ's power changes the desires of our hearts. And through this gospel, we can be made saints, disciples, and instruments in the hands of God to bring to pass much good among our fellow men. I love this Gospel, it has changed me for the better, and if you have not experienced the love and happiness it bring to life, I invite you to do so. Try it out, or if you previously did and have stopped and as a result you feel like you can't return to a life directed by God. Think again, trust God and you will see miracles and will feel of this power guiding your life for the better, directing you to Eternal Happiness!
I love you all!
