A Gospel of Change

Hello!! Hope everyone has had a great week! Big week with a lot of changes, I am very grateful for the chance to be with Elder Richter!! He is a beast, from Ogden, Utah, and has been in Taiwan for about 4 months!

This week we worked hard to find some new investigators, lots of time on the streets contacting people!! One miracle of a story that i would like to share with you!!  Saturday night we went tracting in the pouring rain!! For about the first 40 minutes we were getting doors slammed in our faces, lots of no interests, and even some yelling to get off their property. We decided to go down a different street and the first door had a picture of Jesus on it.  We got super excited and knocked on the door, a lady in about her 20s answered the door and as she saw us her eyes lit up!! She was soo excited, right there we shared the Restoration message and about the Book of Mormon.  She was so intrigued by this message of Jesus Christ she had never heard. She has spent almost her whole life trying to follow Jesus Christ but something has been holding her back from true discipleship.  It is the message of the restoration of Jesus Christ's original church.  We are hoping this week we can continue to help her learn this beautiful gospel!

This week I studied a talk by Russel M. Nelson about choices and change.  The purpose of the gospel is to change us! I thought back of stories of people in the scriptures with these kinds of experiences. I thought about Saul to Paul, I thought about Alma the Younger, and civilizations being changed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.  As I pondered about the big changes they made, I realized how applicable their stories are to our lives.  Of course our change might not be as drastic as their's but if we put our faith in the Lord and are willing to do his will,  we will be changed for the better.  We will become the disciples the Lord needs us to be, and will receive so many blessings.  At this point we may not feel like we deserve to change, we feel it is impossible to overcome habits or things of the sort, but the Gospel and the Atonement of Jesus Christ is there for this purpose us.  To literally change our hearts and desires.  The Atonement can give us the power to press on!

I love the Gospel and have seen it change so many lives, including my own! I hope all of us this week can make a plan to become better, and prayer to our Heavenly Father for the help to do so!!

Love you all!

Transfers

Hey everybody!!! Transfers this week and I am staying in Fengyuan. I am going on 7.5 months here, super exciting, i love the area!  Crazy to see my last comp Elder Warner go home today! He is an absolute beast, and worked hard to the end.  Sorry I don't have a lot of time to write today. My new comp is Elder Richter from Ogden, I have only been with him for like 2 hours but he seems awesome!

That was it for Elder Henderson's letter. Short and sweet. My husband was able to Chat with Elder Henderson from 2 to 4 am on Sunday night and I thought I would share a few other details he forgot in his letter!!

Elder Henderson's last week with Elder Warner was amazing! They spent their last pday together saying good bye to friends Elder Warner has met while on his mission.... People he has baptized etc. They also got a visit from some friends of Elder Henderson's  family from the United States, The Jason Chen family. They also had a baptism!!!! Talk about ending strong!! They baptized an investigator of the Sisters. But Mikey said the man they baptized is one of his best friends in all of Taiwan. I love that he loves the people and has made such amazing friends!

Elder Henderson also told us that he has been made a District Leader to 4 Sisters and 2 Elders and a Senior Companion to Elder Richter from Odgen, Utah. He is very excited for the challenge and says he hopes his district is ready to work!! Like he said he has been in Fengyuan for 7.5 months which is kind of unheard of. I am so grateful to the people there and there love and support and friendship to my Boy!! He is so excited to share the Gospel and Love of Christ with those around him!! He inspires me to be a better person! Please keep Elder Henderson in your prayers, he doesn't mention it much but transportation is pretty sketchy over there!!

Thank you for your love and support!
