This week was sooo awesome!! Started off last P-day going to an all you can eat buffet, super good! The whole day was goig great until, something happened... Elder Spach dropped the phone down the toilet hahaha so we spent a good portion of time going to the mission home to get a new cell phone! hahaha
So many miracles! We met with Sister Liu this week and taught her the Word of Wisdom, at first she was nervous about it, but is trying her absolute hardest to do it. Her testimony is so strong and her desire to follow Christ is such an example to me! They came to church again and loved it, her daughters last week said that primary was awesome and sacrament was a little boring hahah, so we bought some coloring books for them to start using!
Friday night was super cool. We met with a new an awesome lady and has a ton of interest in learning more. We starting into the lesson and asked her if she believed in Jesus Christ. She had heard the name but never heard anything else about him, literally knew nothing about him. It is really different to teach in a situation like this but cool cause we get to teach so simply and testify a lot! After that me and Elder Spach headed home for the night. As we were going home we road past a lady holding a baby walking down the road, at first I didn't see her but Elder Spach felt that we needed to go talk to her. So we turned around and headed back to find her, as we did, she literally disappeared. We could not find her anywhere and we got a little sad, but determined to go find her! We started going down multiple streets but had no luck. At this point we were super sad and wished we would have talked to her to start with. But i just had a thought we were going to find her. So we pulled over and said a prayer. As we did so I had a thought we needed to go down a street a couple minutes down the road. So we got to the street and it was this super dark alley way. We road to the very end and could not see anyone. We stopped and thought for a second, then one of the apartments caught our eye, so out of all the houses on the street, we decided to knock this 1 special door. As we did so, a lady with two little kids answered the door. We told her we were missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a message that could help her family. She was happy to see us and wanted to learn more! We are going to try and meet with her this week! Out of every house we could have knocked on, the spirit guided us to her!!
This was by far one of the best experiences of my mission so far. As I thought back on the experience, I thought about if we would have never gone back to look for the lady with the baby in the first place. We would have never found this other lady! During the prayer we said, I thought of a story that my Aunt Emily told me when I was like 14. Where a lady dreams and in-visioned teaching and baptizing a family on her mission with a purple front door, but when she found the house with the purple door, it turned out to be something to catch her attention, to find the family living next door to the house with the purple door. She ended up baptizing that family. What I got of the experience was that Heavenly Father sometimes puts things in our way to catch our attention, like that lady with the baby, so that he can lead us to where we need to go!
The Lord has a perfect plan for everything and everybody!
We found this AWESOME dad named John in a convenience store. We went up to talk to him and introduced myself, and he said "I know who you are, I met you on the road two days ago!" and I was like well hey, it must be part of God's plan to run into me again! and as a lot of Taiwanese people like to say, I told him it must be 緣分 fate or destiny! We asked him to meet with us and he set up for Saturday morning. We went outside of the elementary school where his kids were taking an arts and crafts class, and shared about the plan of salvation and how families can be together forever! We asked him if he had ever heard of Jesus Christ, and he told us that when he was little he met missionaries from our church that gave him a little booklet about Chirst and His life! He told us that "it's like he has been learning a little bit here and there to help him prepare for the fate of meeting with us"
Yesterday we had a random guy that we met on the street call us and told us he was coming to church!! He is probably 23 years old or so and he is super awesome! He stayed for all 3 hours and even shared some thoughts! He is interested in learning more, so more on him next week!!
Last Week we were riding our bikes past a McDonald's and stopped to talk to a lady who was about 60 years old. At first she didn't want to talk to us at all but we started sharing a little and she warmed up. haha We invited her to church and and then my comp just goes "Maybe we can meet this week and I'll buy you McDonald's" We all started laughing thinking it was a joke. Like 3 days later she called us and said she wanted to meet at McDonald's. So We met with her and bought her McDonald's! hahah We shared about the Plan of Salvation, Her whole family is gone and she feels alone. She LOVED it and wants to learn more. So awesome!
Thank you for all the love and support!
